As a key member of the Room to Read Singapore gala team, I co-led the auction team by sourcing auction prizes from generous partners and sponsors to help raise funds and subsequently, served as the Singapore gala co-chair overseeing four consecutive galas.

I learned about Room to Read when a pamphlet of the founder’s inaugural trip to Nepal appeared in my in-tray during my employment with Banc of America Equity Partners, Asia. Since its inception in Singapore, the funds raised at the annual galas have helped to rewrite the futures of 350,000 children from low-income communities through the lifelong gift of education.

Thanks to education…. I have adopted an open mind about learning as well as re-learning at times which has led to a fulfilling life!
